The rule of thirds

This phot take to demostrate the rule of thirds.
In my first lesson today doing media studies I learnt about the " rule of thirds" and how it's used in movies today. Firstly I will explain the rule of thirds: The guideline proposes that an image should be imagined as divided into nine equal parts by two equally-spaced horizontal lines and two equally-spaced vertical lines, and that important compositional elements should be placed along these lines or their intersections. Proponents of the technique claim that aligning a subject with these points creates more tension, energy wand interest in the composition than simply centering the subject would. I found this very interesting as I started noticing in the movies I have been watching since I learnt about it.
This photograph of a sunset taken demonstrates the principles of the rule of thirds
